01 · Connect chat + verify events
4 min

Start by linking your streaming platform so HostFabric can ingest chat messages and commands.

  • Control → Settings → Integrations
  • Connect Twitch/YouTube
  • Send a test message and confirm it appears
02 · Define command patterns
4 min

Use short, predictable commands that map cleanly to on-air moments and avoid ambiguous triggers.

  • Pick 2–3 commands (e.g., !question, !poll, !clip)
  • Document them for mods
  • Add a fallback “manual only” rule
03 · Add guardrails and throttles
4 min

Prevent spam and keep sponsors safe by applying moderation and rate limiting at the command level.

  • Enable profanity filters
  • Throttle repetitive commands
  • Restrict high-impact commands to subscribers/mods
04 · Run a rehearsal drill
3 min

Dry-run your commands for 3–5 minutes: make sure the queue stays healthy and the overlay never blocks gameplay.

  • Trigger each command once
  • Confirm TTS + captions match
  • Adjust response length if timing feels slow
Keep one operator-only command reserved for “reset”: it should clear the queue and stop playback without debate logic.
